Horsing around

The horse head starts out as a simple cutout from 2" thick Precision Board. It is glued to the back piece with epoxy and a couple of long screws for good measure.

The I squeezed on a thin coat of Abracadabra Sculpting epoxy and then pressed on some crumpled, heavy duty tinfoil to bulk out the shape of the head. Tinfoil is a whole lot less expensive than sculpting epoxy.. I then pressed on a thin layer of sculpt to form a skin. This will be allowed to harden overnight before I start sculpting once more.

Before I was done I formed the eyeballs and nostrils and pressed them on.

 The fun part begins tomorrow.
